Wine Sticks: Crispy and Salted Snack for All Occasions!

Lot of us like to nibble snacks between the meals or while watching the movie. It would be the best if you choose something healthy and possibly sugar-free. Well, we have the recipe but it’s not alcohol-free 😉 Don’t worry! The alcohol will vanish during baking and the taste afterward will be amazing. Yes, we talk about crispy wine sticks (also known as wine crackers). We cut them to sticks but you can make all the shapes you like. The taste is unique.

Wine Sticks Recipe

The recipe can make a different number of sticks or crackers depending on how you shape them.

Ingredients that you need:

  • 5 fl. oz. (150 ml) sesame seed oil (or some other oil with the neutral taste)
  • 5 oz. (150 g) lard
  • 10 fl. oz. (1 1/3 cup or 300 ml) white wine
  • 5 ½ cups (800 g) almond flour
  • 1/3 oz. (10 g) baking powder
  • 2 tsp. salt
  • 2 tsp. cayenne pepper (optional)
  • 1 tbsp. cumin (seeds)

Preparation:

At first, warm the lard just enough to melt. Then mix it with sesame seed oil and white wine.

In other bowl mix almond flour and baking powder. Add the spices and stir.

Pour the wet ingredients into a bowl with dry ingredients and mix all well. Add more flour if needed just to knead into a nice dough. Then take a rolling pin and make the crust about ½ an inch thick. Cut the crust to sticks about ½ an inch width. Or if you like to shape it to another way.

Place the wine sticks into a baking tray and bake at 350°F (180°C) until they get a nice golden yellow color.

Note: Store the wine sticks into a closed bowl up to 5 days at room temperature / 15 days refrigerated / or freeze them and take out when needed.
