Chocolate mousse was created for those who like desserts that do not require an oven. Also, this dessert doesn’t take a lot of time to prepare. It is simple, super delicious and certainly, you’ll enjoy! Great thing is that it is low in carbs and calories. So if you’re on a weight loss diet do not give up this amazing titbit.
Try this chocolate foamy cream in a mug for which you need no more than 20 minutes.
Low-carb Chocolate Mousse
The recipe makes 4 servings. Preparation takes about 20 minutes. Nutritional value per serving: 143 Calories, 12 g Fat, 4 g Carbs, 5 g Protein.
Ingredients that you need:
- 3 oz. (85 g) of dark chocolate (90% cocoa)
- 1 tablespoon of cocoa
- ½ teaspoon of ground coffee
- ½ teaspoon of pure vanilla extract
- 2 egg whites
- 1 tablespoon of xylitol
- 2 oz. (55 ml) Greek yogurt (Whole Fat)
At first, chop the chocolate.
Mix cocoa, coffee and vanilla extract with 2 tablespoons of cold water and pour over chocolate. Melt in the steam. Stir in 2 tablespoons boiling water and let it cool a while.
Put the egg whites into a deep bowl, then add xylitol and whip until you get solid snow.
Then stir yogurt in cooled chocolate. Add one-third of egg whites to chocolate and stir gently. Do the same with the rest of the whites. Place the mousse in bowls (or mugs) and keep in refrigerator until serving.
Serving suggestion: Remove mousse from the bowls onto saucers and garnish with melted chocolate and a slice of lemon.
