Homemade Mayonnaise Recipe
The recipe makes about a cup of mayonnaise. Nutritional value (per 1 tbsp.): 88 Calories, 19.4 g Fat.
Ingredients that you need:
- 1 egg
- 7 oz. (200 ml) neutral oil (avocado oil, grapeseed oil, light olive oil, canola oil…)
- ½ tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. yellow mustard
- 1 Tbsp. freshly squeezed lemon juice
Important!!! All the ingredients for the preparation of mayonnaise must be cold (from the fridge), and the oil is preferably cooled in the freezer for 20 minutes.
First, put the egg into a deep bowl (use the one that goes with the stick blender). Then add the mustard, salt, oil and lemon juice.
Put the blender at the bottom of the bowl, and blend the mixture for 5 seconds. Then move the stick blender up and down, mixing and keep moving for 20-25 seconds.
Pour the mayonnaise into a jar with the lid and keep refrigerated for a 5 days max.
Note: You can regulate the amount of mustard, salt and lemon juice according to your taste.
