Buckwheat porridge with fruit and cinnamon – recipe

Prepare this porridge for your children, who love to explore the tastes, but also teenagers who sometimes “forget” the meal. This will be a great beginning of a busy day. But also, enjoy yourself in porridge when you want a full meal.
Crunchy, tasty and colorful combination of buckwheat, fruits and spices just waiting to try it.
Ingredients for 4 serves:
- 1 pint (400 ml) of water
- 1 cup (170 g) buckwheat
- ½ teaspoon Ceylon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla powder
- 2 fl oz. (50 ml) of almond milk (or any other that you use)
- Dried fruits – dates, figs, prunes
- 1 banana – sliced
- 1 apple – grated
- nuts: almonds, pistachios – to taste
- 1 teaspoon chia seeds
- 1 teaspoon flaxseed
Preparation: Pour water and buckwheat in a pot, add cinnamon and vanilla and heat to boiling point. When boiled, cover the pot, reduce the heat and let it cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
When buckwheat is cooked (notice that it is softened and absorbed all the liquid), add almond milk and let it cook shortly, uncovered.
Add chia seeds (if you want to use them). Stir until smooth, thick paste. Remove from heat.
You can instantly add a banana, apple and dried fruits. Then add nuts and mix them into a porridge.
Also, you can leave the porridge to cool for 10 minutes and then mix in the remaining ingredients.
For gourmets, at the end of the mash, you can add honey.
