Tortilla – perfect low-carb wrap for your meal or salad

Now you can make your low-carb tortilla that will do its job as wrap for salads, sandwiches and more. How many times did you want to bring at work some healthy snack? But you always think it’s not practical, because healthy is vegetables, cheese, meat, eggs… You’ll need a plastic bowl for it. Well, you can make low-carb wrap and pack your food in it, instead of bringing bowls. Just pack your tortilla-sandwich in foil.

Recipe for LCHF Tortilla

Ingredients that you need are:

  • 500 g cauliflower
  • 6 tablespoons psyllium husk
  • 2 eggs
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • coconut flour for rolling

Preparation: Boil the broken cauliflower until completely softens. Then drain thoroughly all liquid and use hand blender or food processor to convert the cauliflower into puree. Add the eggs, psyllium and salt, and mix again. It is important to use a blender for mixing psyllium husk, which becomes a binder similar to gluten.

Leave the mixture at least 15 minutes to get thick. Then divide the “dough” into 6 balls, generously sprinkle with flour and roll each into a form of tortilla.

In a dry pan over medium heat fry each piece until the outside is yellow-brown, and the inside is baked. You can bake tortillas in the oven also, but there’s every possibility that the ends will be too dry.

Stuffing for low-carb tortilla

What you’ll put into your tortilla depends on your taste and desire. You can use leftovers from yesterday’s dinner or make something completely new. Choice is yours. But here are a few suggestions for stuffing.

  • Fried chicken fillets cut with sour cream, lettuce and cucumber. You can add mixture of dry spices if desired.
  • Salad of boiled eggs, spinach, fried bacon and lettuce.
  • Tacos: Fry on olive oil minced meat with onion, red bell pepper, tomato, garlic, chili, basil and salt. Then put in tortilla.
