As experts recommend, the maximum amount of weight that a pregnant woman can afford during these 9 months is from 20 to 24 pounds. However, many moms surpass this weight, so numbers go up to incredible 40 pounds of excess. What, you will agree, is largely detrimental for the health of the mother but also for the health of the child; which will at the very least be born as a large baby.

Of course, not everyone’s body is of the same physiology; also, nutrition and way of maintaining the pregnancy is not the same in every pregnancy. Generally speaking, mentality of every mother, mum-to-be, new mother, woman and nation is not the same. Therefore, every mum will maintain her pregnancy in this or that way, at her discretion; in accordance with her needs, more or less well, as Gynecology and nature require.

Almost every mum-to-be get at least 12–20 pounds during pregnancy. After childbirth, the excess weight usually remains, evenly or unevenly distributed on the body. So new mums are generally dissatisfied with their appearance and then want to recover their body figure as soon as possible.

How to prevent the need for Sonoma diet?

To begin with talk about this innovative diet known as Sonoma, we need to get rid of certain prejudices and misconceptions which many new mums believe.

One such misconception is that mums after a term pregnancy and childbirth should be eating “for two”. First of all, it is proved that new mums could bring only 350 calories more than usual. It is for example only 17 fl oz (½ l) of milk a day. In doing so, the need for any special diet would not exist. If only new mums would be ready to give up their bad habits in nutrition, both during pregnancy and after. So, there is no need for simple sugars in the form of candy, sweets and fizzy drinks like Coke, high fat food, alcohol and cigarettes.

Every mum-to-be and new mum should introduce the food with large quantities of protein, vegetables and fruits, meals with quality meat, liquids in the form of water or any other unsweetened beverages. Also, there should be walks, light exercise and recreation. If you adhere to such a regime, a problem known as “overweight” should not happen.

But if it happens and mums who gain more pounds than expected, we present you popular diet among new mums, so-called Sonoma diet or Californian diet. This diet will help you to lose that excess to which you’re not accustomed to, as soon as possible.
