Cream cheese with herbs

If you like cream cheese with flavor, this is the recipe for you. It’s so easy to make your own flavored low-carb cream cheese. All you have to do is mixing non-flavored full-fat cream cheese with your favorite spices. This recipe is with fresh herbs, a little garlic and lemon peel.

It contains 90% fat, 7% protein and 3% carbohydrates. One serving has 2 g carbs. Preparation time is 5 minutes. It makes 4 servings.

Ingredients that you need for this recipe:

  • 8 oz high-fat cream cheese
  • 2 teaspoons of olive oil
  • 1 garlic clove
  • ½ cup fresh herbs, chopped
  • Peel of ½ lemon
  • 4 celery stalks (instead you can add other fresh vegetables of your liking)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Preparation: Mix all ingredients into the cream cheese. Then leave it at the refrigerator for 10 minutes to let all the flavors develop. Add salt if you want.

Rinse celery stalks and serve together with the soft cheese.

If want you can eat some other vegetable instead of celery, like carrot sticks or bell peppers. Also this cream cheese goes great with low-carb bread.

Low-carb snacks: Cheese roll-ups

This is perhaps one of the fastest and simplest low-carb snacks you can make – also it tastes great. Cheese roll-ups are perfect snack that you’ll make in just a few seconds.

These rolls consist of 88% fat, 11% protein and 1% carbohydrates. But one serving almost doesn’t have carbs. Recipe is for 2 servings.

Ingredients that you need:

  • 6 slices of cheddar, provolone or Gouda cheese
  • 6 slices of butter
  • optional seasoning of your choice

Preparation: At first align the cheese slices on a large cutting board. Then slice butter with a cheese slicer or cut really thin pieces with a knife.

Cover every cheese slice with butter and roll up. Also you can add flavoring, for example chili powder, salt flakes, finely chopped parsley or other fresh herbs. Then serve as a snack.
